Before the parade, we found a place in the shade. The ladies of our Auxiliary who took part in the float.
Getting ready to leave.
And away we go, golf clubs in hand. Ladies golfing tournament will raise money for our Digital Mammogram machine. I'm on top, of course.
Today turned out to be surprisingly a very happy day for me. First I was happy to be invited to ride a float in our local parade, but the result was so gratifying. I was on the top step, waaaay up high on the float. It felt good being on a float for our Foundation, which had the theme of breast cancer. We are raising money for a new digital mammo machine, therefore a pink float. But the most gratifying part of it all was the smiles on the faces of children, mentally handicapped and elderly people, when I waved to them and said Hi. I will probably be sore tomorrow from all the waving and hi'ing but it was well worth it. It was a beautiful sunny day, with a slight breeze blowing on me up there. I always wanted to be in a parade and finally got my wish but did not really expect it to make me feel so good. I actually made people smile for a moment. I forgot all about my aches and pains for an hour and a half. Damn, it felt good!!
